European In-Person Retreats 2025:
Sacred Action for Healing the Earth; The Energy of Prayer, The Power of Intention
May 15-18 at Transalquimia, outside of Barcelona, Spain
This 4-day retreat with Cynthia Jurs will be hosted by Diana Bacanu and Xavier Compte at their retreat center, Transalquimia from May 15-18th. Through medicine walks, solo time in the wilderness, meditation and more, this retreat is a time of being together in ceremony on the land, listening to the wisdom of the Earth, sharing from the heart and exploring ways of bringing spirituality into action for the healing of the Earth. Cynthia will offer dharma talks and an Earth Treasure Vase Ceremony dedicated to the “holy vessel” for Spain, being stewarded by Gaia Mandala member, Andrea Herrera.
The retreat takes place at Transalquimia in the wilderness outside of Barcelona. Co-founded by Diana Bacanu and Xavier Compte, Transalquimia is a non-profit organization in service of collective awakening and healing. Diana & Xavier lead retreats and courses supporting people to reconnect to themselves, to others and to Nature as a way of remembering their true nature and their deeper belonging. As members of the Order of Interbeing of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, Diana & Xavi offer mindfulness retreats, and as guides in the tradition of the School of Lost Borders, they offer wilderness Rites of Passage & Vision Quest retreats in Spanish, French and English, and lead Deep Ecology retreats inspired by Joanna Macy’s “Work that Reconnects”.
We are very pleased that Gaia Mandala teacher and facilitator, Rick Jansen will also be joining us to offer his guidance & gifts at this retreat.
Healing for Mother Gaia; Deepening Our Experience of the Earth Treasure Vase Practice
May 23-26th at Les Marions Retreat Center, Burgundy, France
This retreat will be a special opportunity to directly experience the Earth Treasure Vase practice as we work with several Earth Treasure Vases that have been dedicated and are currently in the process of being accomplished. Participants will have the chance to contribute their offerings & prayers, and form their sacred intentions for the healing of our world.
Happily, Gaia Mandala teacher and facilitator, Rick Jansen will also be joining us to offer his guidance & gifts at this retreat and Charlotte Dufour will be offering daily yoga sessions.
Sacred Activism: Healing Ourselves as we Heal the World
May 29th-June 1st at Les Marions, Burgundy, France
In this retreat we will explore the important interface between healing ourselves while we give our often overwhelming care and attention to healing the Earth. With the world situation calling on us to increase our responsiveness, the need for personal resilience has increased dramatically. Many of us feel afraid, demoralized, exhausted or filled with despair. Together we will support each other to find a deep well of timeless nourishment within where new possibilities can arise and be seen. Practicing together we will experience ourselves as an intimate part of the web of life; Mother Earth. Join us for a time of deep restoration that our next steps may be ones of peace for the benefit of all.
EARTH TREASURE VASE GLOBAL HEALING MEDITATION
SUBLIME MOTHER GAIA TRANSMISSION & TEACHINGS
A Vajrayana-style deity practice inspired by Tara with a visualization of Gaia and a recitation of her mantra. This practice can serve as a profound enhancement to the Earth Treasure Vase Global Healing Meditation.
SUBLIME MOTHER GAIA RETREAT
The retreat includes a transmission ceremony, teachings, group practice, and Q&A. Once one has received the teachings, an ongoing monthly practice group can be joined to deepen one’s understanding and keep the practice alive
MONDAY MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
During this bi-monthly 2 hour practice group, we enter into the quiet space within, stopping to catch our breath, center ourselves and let go of anxiety to reconnect with our true source of Being. At the end of our practice there will be an opportunity for mindful sharing around the circle, and Metta Healing Circle, to heighten personal and collective healing. Our Practice Group continues with shared leadership.
