Winter Course in Buddhist Philosophy with Charok Sherpa Lama
Introduction to:
The Way of the Bodhisattva by Shantideva
Mid-November to Mid-February
2025-2026
This winter (in the Northern hemisphere) we have the opportunity to study the Dharma (Buddhist teachings) in a more formal way with Charok Sherpa Lama as a guide and teacher. We will study together the classic Buddhist text by Shantideva called Bodhicaryavatara: The Way of the Bodhisattva. Charok Lama will offer us an introduction to the text and help us interpret the gems of wisdom that are shared in such a way that we can apply it into our everyday lives. This course will support us to live a daily life of awareness and transformation cultivating the mind of awakening and love (bodhicitta) with the support of a community of practice and a young, refreshing, bright teacher. There is no prior experience with Buddhism or meditation needed.
EARTH TREASURE VASE GLOBAL HEALING MEDITATION
SUBLIME MOTHER GAIA TRANSMISSION & TEACHINGS
A Vajrayana-style deity practice inspired by Tara with a visualization of Gaia and a recitation of her mantra that our founder, Cynthia Jurs, received during intensive practice in retreat and has worked with privately for many years and is bringing forward now at this time of planetary unraveling and evolutionary change.
SUBLIME MOTHER GAIA RETREAT
The retreat includes a transmission ceremony, teachings, group practice, and Q&A. Once one has received the teachings, an ongoing monthly practice group can be joined to deepen one’s understanding and keep the practice alive.
MONDAY MINDFULNESS MEDITATION
During this bi-monthly 2 hour practice group, we enter into the quiet space within, stopping to catch our breath, center ourselves and let go of anxiety to reconnect with our true source of Being. At the end of our practice there will be an opportunity for mindful sharing around the circle, and Metta Healing Circle, to heighten personal and collective healing. Our Practice Group continues with shared leadership.
